- All about Robert and Clara Schumann -

On occasion of the Robert-Schumann-anniversary year 2006 (150th anniversary) and 2010 (200th birthday) the Schumann Network was launched in autumn 2005. Under leadership of Bonn, the initiative of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media was joint by some with Robert Schumann related institutions in Zwickau, Leipzig, Düsseldorf and Bonn. The aim was to honor the great German composer (1810, Zwickau - 1856, Bonn) and to restore the greatest possible public perception by gathering the activities. For this purpose - for a long time extended by Clara Schumann - in the following years further Schumann cities were included, aimed at the anyways most comprehensive "coverage" of Robert and Clara Schumann.

The Schumann portal serves exactly this goal, as it addresses all those who know something about and on the subject of Robert and Clara Schumann or would like to gain an overview of all the manifold offers and activities available. Since 2009, an elaborate and regularly expanded special page has been set up on Clara Schumann, and since 2012, the Schumann Forum (artists as Schumann ambassadors) and the Schumann Journal can also be found on the portal with their own special pages.

Hosts who are interested in placing their events with a reference to Schumann in the portal’s preview of events can find all relevant information under the heading Anmelden [Login] in the top right corner next to the Legal Notice.

As "Best of Klassik" in the 2006 review of the feuilleton of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (31.12.2006, p. 26) acknowledged: Clara Schumann, “Blumenbuch für Robert” (Flower Booklet for Robert) which was published by members of the Schumann Network with the support of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media:
